Tokenized delivery documents for physical settlement of rubber futures
JSCC, the clearing house of Japan Exchange Group, replaced paper warehouse receipts with tokenized delivery documents in the final physical settlement of its rubber futures, on a platform it names as built on Hyperledger Besu. Its own slides call it JSCC's first production use of a distributed ledger and date the launch to January 2023; precious metals were being designed in March 2024. Small in scope: one commodity contract's delivery process.
