Tokenized deposits moving between its clients' accounts (Citi Token Services for Cash)
Citi Token Services for Cash turns client deposits into tokens that move between Citi accounts around the clock, on Citi's Integrated Digital Assets Platform. The case study written with Citi says it runs on Besu, chosen because it is an enterprise client that is also an Ethereum client, as a private network, tested in September 2023 and commercially live in selected markets since October 2024. Citi's own releases say only 'a private-permissioned blockchain' and do not name the client. On 28 September 2026 Citi said the service is live in seven markets: the United States, Ireland, Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Japan and the UAE. No dated figure is published.
