Spot ETH trading and custody for retail clients of Banque Populaire and Caisse d'Epargne (Hexarq)
Groupe BPCE lets retail clients of Banque Populaire and Caisse d'Epargne buy, hold and sell crypto-assets, Bitcoin and Ethereum among them, in their banking apps through its subsidiary Hexarq. Ledger Insights reported on 8 December 2025 that the service had launched in four regional banks with bitcoin, ETH, solana and USDC. On 10 March 2026 BPCE said clients of 13 banks would have access by the end of March, and clients of Banque Palatine from April. BPCE built and operates Hexarq's platform, and Hexarq received its MiCA authorization from the AMF in early February 2026. This is custody of ETH itself, not tokenization.
